Today was the day! Monster Jam rolled into Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio and my girls were ready to see the Monster Jam® Triple Threat Series™ live. Typically we make our Monster Jam outings a family event, but Lilah wasn’t too fond of how loud the trucks were last year so she and Willow decided to have a fun day with their nan and pap. After dropping them off Dustin, Alleigh, Kaelyn, and I headed to Cleveland for an afternoon of monster sized action.
Before the 1pm performance we had the opportunity to attend a Monster Jam® Pit Party from 10:30am to noon. This is a truly unique experience in the world of motorsports where fans have unprecedented access to the Monster Jam trucks, Speedsters, ATVs and drivers. The girls were able to meet their favorite driver, Bari Musawwir who drives Zombie, get his autograph, and even take a photo together.
They got an up close look at all the trucks. Did you know each Monster Jam Truck stands 12 feet tall by 12 feet wide? They weigh approximately 10,000 pounds and their tires are 66 inches tall each!
They also got to check out the Monster Jam Speedsters and even got to sit on a few of the Monster Jam ATVs. I think they would have rode off if given the chance, hehe.
When we were finished at the Pit Party we made our way up to our seats to get settled in for the show to start. While we waited we all indulged in some food from the concession stand. What’s a Monster Jam experience without nachos, hot dogs, and soft pretzels?!
The Monster Jam Trucks roared right into the arena at 1PM on the dot and the next two hours were filled with nonstop action. I especially loved the Monster Jam® Triple Threat Series™ because it tests the versatility of these amazing athletes. Eight drivers went head-to-head in seven different competitions while driving three different vehicles including Monster Jam Trucks, Monster Jam Speedsters, and Monster Jam ATVs. They battled each other for points in racing and freestyle events including wheelies, donuts, and lots more.
I also love that at Monster Jam events they do their best to get the fans involved. I loved seeing everyone moving their arms up and down like zombies to cheer on Bari Musawwir who happens to be a Cleveland, Ohio native. And this year fans even got to cast their vote for each drivers performance. By simply visiting the website JudgesZone.com and entering in the code given by the announcer each fan could score a driver anywhere from 1 to 10 and then submit their score. All of the fan votes were averaged together and included in the overall scoring. Dustin’s score seemed to be the fan average every time. I may have given my favorite driver maximum scores on everything, shhhh it’s our secret, hehe!
There’s still time to catch the Monster Jam® Triple Threat Series™ live tomorrow at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. They will be riding wheelies, spinning donuts, and lots more February 19th at 1PM and 6:30PM. You can even attend the Pit Party tomorrow for only $10 each from 10:30am – noon, but you must have a ticket to attend the 1PM performance as well. And one last thing… be sure to bring ear protection for everyone or you can purchase some at the event. The trucks are as loud as they are big!
