This post and giveaway is sponsored by Blendy Pens. However, all thoughts and opinions are 100% honest and completely my own.
School is in full swing already, and it’s hard to believe, but I’m already gearing up for the holidays. I’ve been hiding and stashing little gifts for Christmas here and there, grabbing things of interest as I go. While some of my kids are hard to buy for, Reese, my second child, is probably one of the easiest. I know any gift will always be a big hit if it allows him to draw or use his creativity, which is his very favorite thing to do. Do you have a little that loves to draw too? If you do, I have a really cool blast from the past toy that needs to be on your Christmas shopping list this year- Blendy Pens by Chameleon Kiz!
Fresh out of 2005, Blendy Pens are a simple, yet incredibly fun and creative concept to add a bit of magic to plain old markers. Blendy Pens are basically 2 markers with a fusion chamber in the middle. So, pick any two colors, snap them into the fusion chamber, hold them vertically while twisting them both, and count to 5. Pull the bottom marker out of the chamber, and color away. The bottom marker will start out as the other color, and as you write or draw, it will slowly transition to the original color- making shading and color transitions a snap.
Not only are the Blendy Pens addictive, but we quickly learned that you can actually put a few different colors in the top of the fusion chamber and get a stream of 3+ colors going continuously. It’s incredibly easy to then make some really amazing artwork with very little effort. Everyone from my 4 year old to my husband loved trying out the different color combos and coloring some of the included posters.
Blendy Pens are already available for purchase at many of my favorite shops and craft stores (including JoAnn and Target- which I may or may not have already been to today, ha), and come in a few different packages ranging in prices. The smaller Original Blendy Pens Stationery Set ($5.99) would be a perfect stocking stuffer, or for a bigger gift, you could try the Original Blendy Pens Jumbo Kit ($24.99) like we were able to explore. A few of the kits also come with a Blendy airbrush, so not only can you blend the markers with different colors, but you can also use them to airbrush neat designs as the colors change.
My kids LOVED this, and the Jumbo Kit also came with lots of posters with hidden designs as you colored, as well as a portfolio to design and keep everything in. Check out some of artwork the whole family has created.
Oh, and did I mention that Blendy Pens are washable? And they truly are, because the 4 year old pretty much airbrushed himself, and it all came out in the wash. WIN!
Check out their website to see all of the retailers where you can purchase Blendy Pens kits and find out more about them.
