Last Friday Dustin, the girls, and I headed up to Cleveland, Ohio to attend Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream! at Quicken Loans Arena. This was an ideal year for us because all of our girls are at perfect ages to enjoy the show. At nine years old Alleigh hasn’t yet entered the “too cool tween” stage and at three years old Lilah was super excited about all of the characters. The fact that they were on the ice and not too close to her helped as well since she’s not too sure about characters dressed up being right next to her. Visiting Disney World will have to wait a while, but Disney On Ice is absolutely perfect. Plus we didn’t have to leave Ohio!
Curious what the show is all about and who you’ll see? Read on!
Celebrate what’s possible as the adventures of five daring Disney heroines spark the courage inside us all at Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream! In her Disney On Ice debut, see how far Moana will go when she embarks on an action-packed voyage with mighty demigod Maui in a quest to save her island, become a wayfinder, and find her own identity. Anna’s devotion to her estranged sister Elsa sets her on a perilous journey to mend their bond, and stop an eternal winter. Rapunzel breaks out of her tower and teams up with an unlikely companion, Flynn Rider, as she goes to great lengths to realize her dream. Armed only with courage, Belle befriends the enchanted castle staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s rough exterior. With help from her friends and a little magic, Cinderella is determined to make the wish in her heart come true. Hosted by Mickey and Minnie, discover why no dream is too big when we find the strength to shape our own destiny at Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream!
Disney On Ice performances are split into two parts. During the first half of Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream! the girls sang along to all their favorite songs from Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Tangled. When Rapunzel popped Flynn Rider in the head with her frying pan all four of my girls erupted in giggles. I absolutely loved when the flying lanterns appeared in the air.
At intermission all of the girls had to have a snow cone. Alleigh, Kaelyn, and Lilah opted for one in a Disney mug that lights up while Willow chose a Mickey cup. I’ll warn you in advance that these are a bit pricey at $14 to $16 a piece, but just consider that it’s a snack/drink and souvenir in one. Plus the girls have been using their cups at dinner time every night since the show. I think they’re trying to prove to mama that the price is worth it, hehe.
After intermission we relived the girls two most favorite Disney movies in shortened ice skating versions – Frozen and Moana. When Elsa created her ice castle sparkling “ice” drifted down from the ceiling and snow floated through the air. When Moana came face to face with Te Kā, the lava monster, fire rose from the ice skating rink while “lava” flowed from the ceiling. This show is Moana’s debut to Disney On Ice and it was absolutely phenomenal. Plus I got to hear Tamatoa, the gargantuan coconut crab covered in gold shiny objects, say “I ate my grandma, and it took a week, because she was absolutely humongous!” The girls know that is one of my favorite lines and are always repeating it to me, hehe.
