Most of my readers know that I have four daughters, but did you know I also have a son? He might walk on four legs, be covered in fur and be named T-Rex, but he’s got a place in my heart just the same as my human children. Even thinking about a time when he might not be a part of my life tends to bring a tear to my eye. It’s a mighty … …..
October is here and I am so excited because autumn is my favorite season. October brings gorgeous fall leaves, bright orange pumpkins, apple cider, trick-or-treat, and it also brings pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women. In the United States one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. With statistics like this I am sure you have a personal connection with this deadly cancer. My grandmother fought breast cancer and thankfully she was a survivor. There are many ways you can help … …..

No dog is “just” a dog. They are so much more than that. Our dog, T-Rex, is a member of our family. He is my fur baby and even has his very own spot in the header of my blog right along side my human children. He entered our lives so unexpectedly roughly a year and a half ago. While driving home after dropping my kids off at … …..
It feels like summer just began, but my girls will be heading back to school in less than a month. This year I will have a fourth grader, second grader, and pre-kindergarten student. All three are my little fashionistas and so they have already begun thinking about what their first day of school outfit will be and second day of school and third day of school… and well, you get the idea. When it comes to putting together a back to school wardrobe the most important piece is the perfect pair of jeans because you can mix and match them … …..
When Dustin and I found out that we were expecting our first child about ten years ago we were living in an apartment. While apartment living works for some people it didn’t seem practical for us especially in our current living situation. We were on the third floor of a building without an elevator, no washer/dryer in our unit, and the second bedroom was very small. And so we began the frantic search for what would become our first home together since our lease was soon to expire on our apartment. We had intended for this cozy bungalow to be … …..
One thing I always knew was that I wanted to be a mom, but I wasn’t quite sure how many kids that would be. Ten years ago I might have thought you were crazy if you told me today I would have four daughters, hehe. Yet over the past nine years I have been blessed to grow our family by four beautiful bundles of joy. I will never forget the moment each of those bundles were placed in my arms and they got their first hug from mama. Huggies understands that there is truly nothing more powerful than that moment. … …..
This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. Summer is officially here and that means lots of time by the pool. My girls and I would be poolside from sun up to sun down if it was possible. But being near water throws in a whole new set of dangers that we don’t deal with on a regular basis. In fact drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury death in the United States for children ages one to four years old. It … …..
Life with four girls is getting crazier as each year passes. We currently have three playing soccer, two taking swimming lessons, and my oldest is running her first 5k on Saturday. Add in my wild child two year old and I barely get a moment to sit down. All that running can leave my husband and I feeling rather parched. And so when he needs a caffeine pick me up his first stop is always Circle K. A post shared by Danielle Harper (@harperhousehold) on May 13, 2017 at 3:42pm PDT If an ice cold pop is what you want … …..
There are 6 mouths in our family….. well 6 human mouths. Five of those I am responsible for keeping sparkly clean and cavity free. I’m pretty sure the husband can fend for himself, hehe. With four girls sometimes it’s a struggle to make it through the day let alone make sure everyone has brushed their teeth. Did I even eat breakfast today? Thankfully my two oldest daughters are now old enough to take care of their oral hygiene themselves, but it does take some reminding. We’ve also discovered a few products that make the whole process a bit easier so … …..
One of the best things about being a parent, aunt/uncle, grandparent, or well anyone who gets to spend time with kids is that you get to relive a bit of your childhood at the same time. While browsing toy aisles with my girls I have seen so many of the toys I used to play with either in their original form or a fun remake. And the same goes for television shows and movies. I about flipped when I saw that there was going to be a new Smurfs movie. Have you seen Smurfs: The Lost Village? It hit theaters … …..
