Ninjago Warrior and Babywearing Lego Costume Tutorial

Growing up, my mom loved Halloween.  We went all out with house decorations, costumes, pumpkin carving, and everything spooky.  I had some of the most amazing costumes as a child, and most of them were DIY by my mom and grandma (Grandma had some AMAZING sewing skills!).  With 4 kids, we’ve carried on the DIY costume tradition for a few reasons.  My favorite reason is that with a little planning, most DIY costumes can be really cute and unique.  Also important, though, is that DIY costumes tend to be way cheaper when you have a large family.  This year the … …..

Super Simple Juice Box Mummies

Alleigh and Kaelyn’s Halloween parties are this week at school and I have volunteered to do a few things for each of their classes.  And why not share those creative things here on the blog?  For Alleigh’s party one of the things I volunteered to do was bring juice boxes.  But who just brings plain old juice boxes?  Not this mama.  And don’t start thinking “oh you are just being an over achiever.”  This was literally the simplest crafty project I could ever do and yet it adds a super cute element to their party that I know the kids … …..

How to Make a Halloween Ghost From Trash Bags

I love making crafts, but sometimes before I know it I’ve spent a small fortune to make one of my ideas come to fruition.  That’s why I am so excited to share this adorable Halloween decoration I created.  I bet you already have every supply you’ll need somewhere in your home.  In fact the main supply is white 13 gallon kitchen trash bags!   In our home we always have Hefty Ultra Strong Drawstring Trash Bags on hand because I love their exceptional performance and low price.  Heck, I’d even compare their strength to John Cena!  Plus did you know … …..

This #onestopshopforbaby shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Halloween is a little over a month away and my girls are already talking about what they want their costumes to be this year.  The big girls have decided they want to be pirates and they want their baby sister to be a parrot.  Since I absolutely adore themes this makes me super excited too!  While the girls had me thinking about Halloween I figured it would be the perfect time to make “Baby’s First Halloween” purchases for my lil Lilah Rose when … …..

Wonka Original Spree Halloween Candy Treat Bags

This #Treats4All shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Have you begun preparing for Halloween?  It’s not too far away!  My girls have their Halloween costumes all picked out and are super excited to go trick-or-treating.  We rarely have any kids stop by in our neighborhood so instead I focus on making cute Halloween treats for the girls to pass out to their friends at their class Halloween parties.  It’s still hard to believe I have two kiddos in school with classrooms full of friends this year.  Today while shopping at Walmart … …..

DIY Halloween Costumes: Despicable Me 2

Tomorrow is trick-or-treat!  Oh how I love trick-or-treat… always trying to convince my kids to pick the Reese’s when their an option, hehe.  As everyone knows the most important part of trick-or-treat is picking the best Halloween costume.  Now since I am a tad bit OCD I must have my kiddos in themed costumes – MUST.  It took a bit of convincing this year and lots of suggestions, but we finally settled on characters from Despicable Me 2. The vast majority of these costumes were super simple and relatively inexpensive to put together.  The hardest part was all the running … …..

Pumpkin Masters Kits – The Safe Way to Carve!

One of my favorite things about Halloween is pumpkins.  I love taking the kiddos out to the pumpkin patch and letting them each choose the perfect pumpkin.  After wandering around the pumpkin patch this year we ended up with three massive pumpkins that were just begging to be carved. I remember growing up watching my parents carve jack-o-lantern faces into our pumpkins with huge kitchen knives so when I started carving pumpkins for my little ones five years ago I reached for the knives too.  But I must admit that those big knives just aren’t the easiest to work with … …..

Hehe.  Speaking of … …..

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Tips

I’m one of those people who just can not do a simple jack-o-lantern face on our pumpkins each year.  Instead I have to get all fancy schmancy, hehe.  It’s really so much easier than it looks and today I am gonna show you how.  MAMA HARPER’S PUMPKIN CARVING TIPS:1.)  When scooping out the pumpkin guts scrape the inside of the pumpkin until the area you want to carve is about an inch thick.  Don’t make it too thin or the pumpkin wall will become too weak and will break while carving. 2.)  Search for a FREE pumpkin carving template online … …..
