PROUD TO BE A:
A few days ago I shared my bitter sweet story of weaning Willow from breastfeeding after 23 months. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit sad about it, but it is also nice to have a little break until Baby Harper #4 arrives in late November. At the end of that post I mentioned I would be posting a review and giveaway as a farewell to our breastfeeding journey soon and that day is today. When I became a mom for the first time nearly six and a half years ago I knew I was going to … …..
I am very excited to tell my readers all about an awesome giveaway for the breast milk pumping mamas out there. I have pumped here and there over the past 6 years, but my blog contributor Sunny is a pumping pro. Since the birth of her first son Sunny has donated around 3,000 ounces of breast milk. Isn’t that amazing?! She also works 1-2 nights per week as an RN in the labor & delivery unit so between pumping for work and for donation Sunny definitely knows her stuff when it comes to breastfeeding and pumping products. Many of which … …..
If you’ve read any of my other posts, I’m sure you know by now that I’m a breastfeeding advocate. But I’m also a milk donation advocate too. I think I’ve donated around 3,000 oz since the time that my first was born. (Crazy, isn’t it?! It sorta blows my mind!) I also work 1-2 nights per week as an RN, so between pumping for work and for donation, my pump and I are trusty and very personal friends. So when it died a few weeks ago, I **almost** organized a funeral. And had a slight panic attack. And in the … …..
Sometimes I laugh at my evolution of parenting, and I’m sure lots of other moms feel this way too. With Aiden, I tried pretty hard to do things by the book. I fed him every 3-4 hours on a schedule, solids started at 4 months with jarred baby food, if a toy fell on the ground it was immediately sanitized, and tummy time was a daily cry it out battle. When Reese came along, he got fed a little more on demand, solids started a bit later with homemade baby food, the toy got a good brush down, and tummy … …..
Not too long ago, I shared with you two incredibly helpful products for breastfeeding moms from a company that’s all about Happy Moms and Healthy Babies- Milkies. With both the Milk-Saver and the Freeze, saving and storing every last drop of that precious liquid gold has become so much easier! The Milk-Saver has saved me over an ounce at some pumping and breastfeeding sessions, and could have saved almost 3 gallons of breastmilk over a year if I would have had it from the time Ezra was born! It’s crazy! Plus the Freeze helps me to keep my milk frozen … …..
I’ve been breastfeeding one child or another for just about the last 4 years of my life. I sometimes feel like it’s all I do- at work, at home, when talking with friends. But then in those sweet moments of just myself and my nursling, in the quiet of the night, and the knowledge that I alone am the one giving them the nourishment to sustain life, it’s all worth it. Every. Single. Moment. Every hour spent with my trusty pump sidekick. Every afternoon spent washing pump supplies. Every morning I’ve spent filling milk bags for donation or when I’m … …..
Want to get a new or expectant mom a piece of baby gear that they are guaranteed to love? Look no further than the Boppy Feeding and Infant Support Pillow. It’s a proven winner having been named the number one nursing pillow! In fact this year Boppy earned the top spot in American Baby magazine’s American Baby Bests Awards for the 10th time. Not to mention this is the 14th consecutive year that the Boppy has been voted a must-have product. The best part is these awards are voted on and chosen by moms and that many moms can’t be … …..
Even before Alleigh was born over four years ago I knew I had to have a Boppy. And I must say that over the years we have gotten so much use out of that awesome pillow and have used it for so much more than just nursing. However, the one thing that always drove me nuts was that it was just a bit too big to drag around with us when we would leave the house. Turns out I wasn’t the only momma to see this dilemma and after listening to the requests of it’s consumers Boppy released the new … …..
Sometimes when new moms are getting the hang of breastfeeding or would just like some extra coverage while out in public a nursing cover is a necessity. That is exactly the situation that Claire Ekelund found herself in when nursing her infant daughter in public. And so Bebe au Lait’s first and best known product was created out of necessity – the Hooter Hider (the name just makes me giggle, hehe). Since then Bebe au Lait has grown to include three brands: Hooter Hiders, Bebe au Lait, and Lille. I received a Bebe au Lait nursing cover and burp cloth … …..
The Spring Fever event will be starting tonight but I still have quite a few awesome breastfeeding products to tell you about. And so over the course of the next few days you will get to hear all about these great items, but today you will learn about a product that has helped millions of moms breast feed their babies and that is the #1 choice of lactation consultants plus is being used in hundreds of newborn intensive care units and birthing hospitals. That product is the My Brest Friend Nursing Pillow. There are several options to choose from to … …..
