PROUD TO BE A:
Last night I went to bed a little earlier than normal because I was just feeling a bit off. When I woke up this morning I realized why when I tried to swallow and found I had a sore throat and my head felt all stuffy. I crossed my fingers that no one else had this crud, but when I walked out into the living room I saw that sick got real in my house. My poor little Willow Bean was curled up on the couch looking rather miserable while coughing and as she said “dripping snot boogies.” A few … …..
This post has been sponsored by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and reviews are my own. During the winter months it seems at least one of my kids is always sick. After all there are four of them and though they might not like to share their toys or electronics they are more than willing to share their germs with each other. One of the biggest perks of winter break is that the oldest two aren’t constantly bringing home germs from school to share with the rest of the family. Those few weeks we seem to get a break from … …..
This post was sponsored by AstraZeneca as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. Do you know the leading cause of hospitalization for babies during their first year of life in the United States? It’s a disease that can cause up to 125,000 infant hospitalizations and around 200 infant deaths per year. Yet 1/3 of mothers have never heard of it. Respiratory Syncytial Virus more commonly referred to as RSV. I had heard the term before, but didn’t quite realize the seriousness of this disease until Willow, then 8 … …..
My favorite time of year is upon us. I absolutely love everything about autumn… pumpkins, fall foliage, apple cider, sweater weather, hay rides, and so much more. I suppose there is one thing that I could really do without though and that would be cold & flu season which begins to increase in October. With the big girls back in school we’ve already had a round of colds make its way through our household. As a mom of four I have definitely learned that it is always best to be prepared because you never know when an illness is going … …..
Happy Fourth of July weekend! Later this afternoon the Harper household will be heading to Portage Lakes State Park to enjoy this beautiful weather with my sister, her boyfriend, my parents, and some close family friends. The girls are so excited to spend some time on the water relaxing on a pontoon boat and playing on the private beach. I can’t wait to spend time with family, grill out, and watch the amazing Portage Lakes fireworks display over the lake. There’s just something about being on the water that just forces you to relax by escaping the stresses of the … …..
We’ve been a family of 6 for just about 4 weeks now, and summer break is in full swing. While my husband has been off work with me to adjust to our new family and sweet baby Julian, we’ve had so much fun spending quality time with our boys. Since the weather has been pretty much beautiful, we’ve spent a ton of time enjoying the outdoors. Our boys play outside every day they possibly can, and we’ve been burning through the sunscreen like no tomorrow. Since children receive three times as much sun exposure than adults do every year, we … …..
My girls are counting down the days til school is out and summer is officially here. They are so ready to trade in desks, math facts, and spelling words for pools, flip flops, and diving rings. And I must say I am right there with them. But as a mom I know that with water also comes danger which is why I firmly believe that teaching children to swim and promoting water safety is very important. SwimWays feels the exact same way and so they founded National Learn to Swim Day in 2012. May 21st will mark SwimWays 5th annual … …..
School is quickly coming to a close for our boys, and we are all so excited for the arrival of warmer weather. This year, we even have a new baby joining us, and we’re ready for a summer packed full of fun and learning! But unfortunately, along with all of the outdoor activities and beautiful weather, a nasty cold bug or two seems to catch on in the transition. Even though we try our best to keep those germs away, sick still seems to get very real in our house. Plus, when you have a home full of boys like we … …..
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the TB Blood Test. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. Today I want to talk about something that thirty percent of the world’s population has in common. They are infected with tuberculosis (TB). Every twenty-one seconds someone dies from tuberculosis and every three seconds a new infection occurs. WHAT IS TB? Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne, highly contagious, infectious disease caused by bacteria. These bacteria are spread through the air by a person infected with active TB when they sneeze, cough or even … …..
The summer months have been so much fun around our house this year. Sleeping in with the boys has definitely been one of the best parts, but we’ve also had some pretty major changes happen over the break. Aiden became a kindergartener, our house is now listed for sale, Reese is starting preschool, and Ezra officially moved up from a crib to a toddler bed. While I’m proud of each one of their accomplishments (and ours… listing and showing a house is some seriously hard work!), all of the changes can really mess with a mother’s emotions! One of the … …..
