Ninjago Warrior and Babywearing Lego Costume Tutorial

wholefamily_1

Growing up, my mom loved Halloween.  We went all out with house decorations, costumes, pumpkin carving, and everything spooky.  I had some of the most amazing costumes as a child, and most of them were DIY by my mom and grandma (Grandma had some AMAZING sewing skills!).  With 4 kids, we’ve carried on the DIY costume tradition for a few reasons.  My favorite reason is that with a little planning, most DIY costumes can be really cute and unique.  Also important, though, is that DIY costumes tend to be way cheaper when you have a large family.  This year the … …..

How to Make a Halloween Ghost From Trash Bags

trash-bag-ghost

I love making crafts, but sometimes before I know it I’ve spent a small fortune to make one of my ideas come to fruition.  That’s why I am so excited to share this adorable Halloween decoration I created.  I bet you already have every supply you’ll need somewhere in your home.  In fact the main supply is white 13 gallon kitchen trash bags!   In our home we always have Hefty Ultra Strong Drawstring Trash Bags on hand because I love their exceptional performance and low price.  Heck, I’d even compare their strength to John Cena!  Plus did you know … …..

BOO a Special Dog this Halloween

pet-boo-bundle-with-rex

This #BOOItForward & #PawfectBOO shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias Inc. and its advertiser, Mars, Incorporated. All opinions are mine alone. I love surprises, but I love surprising others even more.  A super fun way to surprise friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, or even a stranger during October is to BOO them.  Now I don’t mean sneak up behind them, shout boo, and scare them silly!  When you BOO someone you deliver a fun bundle of Halloween treats to brighten their day and let them know how special they are to you.  BOOing is a wonderful way to pay it forward … …..

You’re Invited to a Halloween Party at Portrait Innovations

700x550_Event_10132015_R

This post is sponsored by Portrait Innovations.  My girls are getting so excited for Halloween!  They switched up their original costume plan when Willow declared that she wanted to be a dinosaur again this year.  But this time she wants to be a triceratops.  I thought it was super sweet that Alleigh and Kaelyn decided to wear dinosaur costumes as well.  All four of my girls are going to look adorable and I want to capture that cuteness forever which is why we will be attending a Halloween Party at Portrait Innovations!  And guess what – you are invited too! … …..

Invite The Sugar Goblin Into Your Home this October

Sugar Goblin with Candy

This post is part of a sponsored campaign for The Sugar Goblin. I received compensation for my participation, but my review and opinions are my own. Halloween is on the way and with it comes an over abundance of candy.  With how the holiday falls this year Alleigh, Kaelyn, and Willow will be trick-or-treating twice which means double the candy.  Of course the girls are absolutely thrilled about this, but like many parents we choose to limit their candy intake.  In addition to limiting the amount of candy our girls eat we also do not allow them to eat anything … …..

Babies”R”Us is Baby’s First Halloween One Stop Shop

Huggies Halloween

This #onestopshopforbaby shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Halloween is a little over a month away and my girls are already talking about what they want their costumes to be this year.  The big girls have decided they want to be pirates and they want their baby sister to be a parrot.  Since I absolutely adore themes this makes me super excited too!  While the girls had me thinking about Halloween I figured it would be the perfect time to make “Baby’s First Halloween” purchases for my lil Lilah Rose when … …..

Say NO to Decorative Contact Lenses This Halloween

Vision.jpg

I wrote this review while participating in an Influencer campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and received a promotional item from Mom Central to thank me for participating. When it comes to Halloween I am definitely one that likes to complete costumes with accessories down to the finest details.  But I draw the line when it comes to compromising my health.  Unfortunately every Halloween many people unknowingly risk the health of their eyes by adding decorative contact lenses without a prescription to their costume.  In fact 17 percent of Americans have worn … …..

Wonka Original Spree Halloween Candy Treat Bags

NestleHalloween6.jpg

This #Treats4All shop has been compensated by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Have you begun preparing for Halloween?  It’s not too far away!  My girls have their Halloween costumes all picked out and are super excited to go trick-or-treating.  We rarely have any kids stop by in our neighborhood so instead I focus on making cute Halloween treats for the girls to pass out to their friends at their class Halloween parties.  It’s still hard to believe I have two kiddos in school with classrooms full of friends this year.  Today while shopping at Walmart … …..

DIY Halloween Costumes: Despicable Me 2

DespicableMe2.jpg

Tomorrow is trick-or-treat!  Oh how I love trick-or-treat… always trying to convince my kids to pick the Reese’s when their an option, hehe.  As everyone knows the most important part of trick-or-treat is picking the best Halloween costume.  Now since I am a tad bit OCD I must have my kiddos in themed costumes – MUST.  It took a bit of convincing this year and lots of suggestions, but we finally settled on characters from Despicable Me 2. The vast majority of these costumes were super simple and relatively inexpensive to put together.  The hardest part was all the running … …..

Pumpkin Masters Kits – The Safe Way to Carve!

pumpkinmasters.jpg

One of my favorite things about Halloween is pumpkins.  I love taking the kiddos out to the pumpkin patch and letting them each choose the perfect pumpkin.  After wandering around the pumpkin patch this year we ended up with three massive pumpkins that were just begging to be carved. I remember growing up watching my parents carve jack-o-lantern faces into our pumpkins with huge kitchen knives so when I started carving pumpkins for my little ones five years ago I reached for the knives too.  But I must admit that those big knives just aren’t the easiest to work with … …..
