The winter months in Ohio are certainly unpredictable. We’ve had days that were so bitter cold I didn’t want to even crawl out of bed and then there were days that temperatures reached nearly 60°F. We have definitely taken advantage of every warm day with trips to the zoo and park. And on the days that we can’t get out due to the crazy weather my girls love to take an adventure by diving into a book. Willow tends to travel to times when dinosaurs roamed the earth while Lilah will curl up on the couch with a kitty book. … …..
Yesterday I asked Alleigh, Kaelyn, and Willow to work together to clean their bedroom which was a complete disaster. As the day went on it became very apparent that Alleigh was doing the vast majority of the cleaning while her sisters were playing or complaining. Once the room was cleaned I decided to reward Alleigh by taking her out to eat – just the two of us. She chose Pizza Hut and I was absolutely stoked. I love Pizza Hut, but we usually order delivery. There’s just something extra delicious about Pizza Hut fresh from the oven still in the … …..
This post is sponsored by Disney-Hyperion. Growing up I remember waking up on Saturdays and staying in bed reading books all morning long. I could devour them one after another. My oldest daughter seems to be heading down that same path which makes me one happy mama. She loves to read and gets super excited whenever she receives a new book. Recently she received two books in the Ballet Cat series written by Bob Shea. These books are recommended for ages 6 to 8 years. Alleigh loves that they are written in a comic book style compared to a traditional … …..
All samples and prizing are provided by Random House Kids, and all thoughts and opinions are my own. As I sit here writing this, I can clearly hear three little boys “sleeping”. And by sleeping, I mean playing, scheming plans for tomorrow, and doing everything but lying still and going to sleep! Bedtime always has been a battle for us to get all three of our boys quiet, still, and asleep at the same time. We’ve tried just about every method out there, and while some help, the struggle. is. real. Do you guys struggle like we do? My guess … …..
Ahoy there, me hearties! All three of my boys love pirates. In fact, two years ago Aiden and Reese dressed up like pirates for Halloween… and just about everyday after that too! I’m not sure, but I can guess Reese may love pirates a little more because of how much we talked about them when he first got his eye patch when he was 1. To get him to leave it on his glasses, we told him to just pretend it was a pirate eye patch and talk like a pirate all day. So he did just that! Reese still … …..
Ever since I had kids, Kohl’s has been one of my very favorite places to shop for my family. Not only can I find some really great sales, but their coupons and Kohl’s Cash deals make shopping there very rewarding. Plus, Kohl’s has such a variety of items in the store that I know I can pretty much grab everything I need in one visit. It’s definitely become a favorite place for birthday gifts since I have quick access to clothes, home goods, toys, candles, and even some great kitchen items. My kids love Kohl’s and tend to get a … …..
I grew up with a huge bookshelf overflowing with books, and I knew that I wanted my kids to have the same thing growing up. So early on in my first pregnancy, we started collecting new and used books that would be appropriate for all ages. As our family expanded and the boys grew, we added books based on life events coming up- books on the dentist, having a new baby, the potty chair, and other exciting milestones. So recently, we added A Bed for Fred, written by Lori Zoss and illustrated by Cheri Polk, to our collection. A Bed … …..
This year we decided to do a book advent calendar. Every evening before bed the girls have taken turns unwrapping a new book and listening to mom or dad read. Some of them have been rather funny like… Throughout the book the curious mouse peeks in his friends diapers only to find lots and lots of poop. In fact you can lift the flap and see just what that poop looks like, hehe. At the end his friends ask mouse to show them his diaper and they find it is empty. He explains that he uses the potty and they … …..
If you are anything like me you probably find yourself taking adorable pictures of your children, pets, loved ones, or anything you find interesting on a daily basis. Many times those photos get posted to my blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or messaged to friends. Something that I rarely do, but really should is print them out so they can be enjoyed more than just through a screen whether it be a smart phone or computer. All of those pictures can also easily be turned into wonderful Christmas gifts for almost everyone on your list by visiting Shutterfly. At Shutterfly you … …..
I received product from Peppa Pig for reviewing in this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Our television seems to always be on the Nick Jr. channel because it is full of shows that all three of my kiddos enjoy watching. One of those shows in particular is Peppa Pig. This animated show follows the daily adventures of Peppa who lives with her brother George, Mommy Pig, and Daddy Pig in the United Kingdom where they speak with an engaging British accent. Peppa enjoys playing games, dressing up, going on trips, and jumping in muddy puddles with every … …..
