How We’re Supporting Pizza Hut: The Literacy Project

The winter months in Ohio are certainly unpredictable.  We’ve had days that were so bitter cold I didn’t want to even crawl out of bed and then there were days that temperatures reached nearly 60°F.  We have definitely taken advantage of every warm day with trips to the zoo and park.  And on the days that we can’t get out due to the crazy weather my girls love to take an adventure by diving into a book.  Willow tends to travel to times when dinosaurs roamed the earth while Lilah will curl up on the couch with a kitty book.  … …..

Enjoying Pizza While Supporting The Literacy Project

Yesterday I asked Alleigh, Kaelyn, and Willow to work together to clean their bedroom which was a complete disaster.  As the day went on it became very apparent that Alleigh was doing the vast majority of the cleaning while her sisters were playing or complaining.  Once the room was cleaned I decided to reward Alleigh by taking her out to eat – just the two of us.  She chose Pizza Hut and I was absolutely stoked.  I love Pizza Hut, but we usually order delivery.  There’s just something extra delicious about Pizza Hut fresh from the oven still in the … …..

Every Woman Deserves a Safe Childbirth

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the Cigna Foundation, in partnership with Samahope. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. After the birth of each of my daughter’s I made sure to write their birth story so that I could remember all the little details that may eventually fade from my memories.  Each story is so different and each time something didn’t go exactly according to my plan, but I was blessed to end each story with a beautiful bundle of joy being placed in my arms. Another similarity among … …..

Join Walmart & Pampers in Donating to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals {Plus $25 Walmart Gift Card Giveaway}

Thank you to P&G for sponsoring todays post. While most days my job as nurse brings out lots of happy and life affirming moments, there are unfortunate times when I see children that are sick, hurting, and very unwell. What’s very interesting to me is that 1 in 10 sick children are treated in a network of hospitals that are part of the Children’s Miracle Network. In fact, one of my own children has been treated at CMN hospitals a few hours from us, and they have made a huge impact in our life! Every day, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals … …..

Join Huggies to Spread the Love with an #UltraHug Selfie

As a mom of 3 amazing boys, there is always lots of love to go around, and I’ve found that their love comes in many forms.  Sometimes it’s an artistic masterpiece, a warm cuddle before bed, a story they want to read with me, a trip to the park, or even just a simple “I love you”.  (The best things in life are always free, aren’t they?!)  Sometimes, it’s a totally different type of love when I hear a “Mom, Ezra needs his diaper changed!”  Now that kind of love is true dedication, hehe!  As you can imagine throughout the … …..

1 in 4 Americans Experience Bladder Leakage – Join Me & #DropYourPants for #Underawareness

Thanks to Depend for sponsoring today’s discussion. After giving birth to my absolutely adorable little girls I knew my body would change.  I knew my stomach would never be the same again.  I knew my breasts wouldn’t be as perky… especially after many years of breastfeeding.  I knew those veins and dimpling in my thighs would be around for the long haul.  But something I wasn’t prepared for was losing the control I had over my bladder.  That thing now seems to have a mind of it’s own.  I can’t laugh, sneeze, cough, or throw up without peeing myself!  And … …..

Kmart’s Fab 15 Toy List Makes Christmas Shopping Simple

One of the best things about being a parent is that you also get to be a kid all over again.  When your little one asks you to go down the slide with them at the playground – you can!  When your toddler asks you to color with them – you can!  When they get all sorts of fun new presents on Christmas morning and ask you to play with them – you can!  Having kids brings back the magic of Christmas in a whole new fun way.  In a way that is somehow even better than when you were … …..

Funding Creative Education through Apparel with Schoola

Throughout high school I was pretty active in extracurricular activities, especially things that pertained to the different arts. I (somewhat embarrassingly) was in a girls show choir, musicals, art, Spanish, volleyball, and everything in between. When I look back on high school, it’s these activities that made my school experience more than just a great experience, but a really fun one with some very special memories. And now that Aiden is going to be starting kindergarten next year in that very same school, I can only hope that his time there will be just as much fun with plenty of … …..

Help Eliminate #DiaperNeed with Huggies & the National Diaper Bank Network

Everyone knows that with every little bundle of joy that comes into the world, comes lots of other little “bundles” that need to get changed every 2-4 hours, 24 hours a day. While many parents start out really excited to change these first diapers, some parents have a totally different thought in mind- a thought of where that next diaper will come from. In fact, 1 in 3 US families will struggle with providing enough clean, dry diapers for their baby at some point in their diapering years. Some parents will even have to chose between food and diapers, and … …..

Help Fight Childhood Cancer with Red Robin & Alex’s Lemonade Stand on National Lemonade Day – 8.20.2014

  Pregnancy cravings.  These are very real occurrences that must be taken seriously and fulfilled quickly.  Trust me there is not much worse than a pregnant woman who wants a specific beverage or food – just ask my hubby… this is his 4th time around the block, hehe.  And just how every baby is completely different so are the pregnancies right down to the cravings.  So what is Mama Harper craving with Baby Harper #4?   Well, where beverages are concerned it is lemonade.  I just can not get enough of the stuff… the sour of the lemons mixed with the … …..
