Two words that definitely describe me are crafty and creative. I love thinking up new ideas and seeing my thoughts become a reality. My hubby on the other hand tends to roll his eyes when the wheels in my brain start turning because he knows I will be asking him to assist when it comes to using saws, drills, and other tools. But recently I had the opportunity to try out the new BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX* Lithium 2-Speed Drill and decided this project was going to be completed entirely on my own. I envisioned an American Flag comprised of wood … …..
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Pier 1 Imports. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. We have a decent sized backyard with a covered cement patio and lots of toys for the kiddos to play with yet since moving in nearly seven years ago we have never truly used it. This year I decided I wanted to do something about that. I wanted to make our back patio functional by having comfy chairs for the adults to sit and … …..
It’s Monday! That means it’s time for Making It Monday. Some weeks the crafts will be super simple, some times they’ll be a bit more complex, and sometimes they’ll be perfect for toddler participation. Regardless you can be sure that you’ll always find something adorable with instructions so easy to follow that even the craft-challenged will be able to replicate the project in their own home – promise! This week I am excited to share how I transformed crib bumpers into beautiful wall art for Emma’s nursery – Willow’s future best friend forever, hehe. Over the past few years I … …..
Willow’s nursery is really coming together, but I desperately wanted a little table lamp to place on the end table beside my nursing chair. I always need some place to sit a bottle of water, my phone, or anything really which is why I needed the end table, but it just looked bare without a table lamp. Now since I have my squirrel and acorn theme going on in the room it was impossible to find a lamp that fit my décor without spending a TON of money which was just not gonna happen! And so I made my own…. … …..
Are ya ready for another “Do It Yourself” project? Displaying your little one’s name above their crib has definitely become the thing to do. With both Alleigh and Kaelyn I purchased wooden letters which I painted and hung with ribbon, but I wanted to do something a bit different in Willow’s room. I had found some perfect fabric for her nursery’s theme, but there was only a tiny bit left – definitely not enough to make curtains out of or anything like that – so instead I have been incorporating it into various projects in her room. FRAMED LETTER WALL … …..
Since I selected a theme for Willow’s nursery that it seems has never been done before I have been doing lots of “do it yourself” projects to make things exactly how I want them. If you’re new around here the theme for her room is squirrels and acorns done in brown, pink, tan, and white. And so I am going to start sharing my little projects with you – most of which could be changed to fit any theme you can dream up. And so here is the first one. HOW TO BRING LIFE TO OLD/UGLY TRINKETS Materials: trinkets/figurines – … …..
I wanted to add a little bit of personalization to the girls new room – throw some A’s & K’s up on the wall. That’s what their actual names start with, hehe. And so this is what I did…. I went to what I call “old people garage sales.” You know the ones you normally wouldn’t want to stop at because there’s no kids clothing, little tikes toys, or much that interests you. Well these are the garage sales where you will find old ornate picture frames. Once I had a selection of frames – most of which cost me … …..
I wanted some original art to hang on the walls in the girls new bedroom. And I figured who better to paint this original art then the girls themselves? Have you ever looked at an expensive painting and thought “My three year old could do that?” Well mine did! And my 15 month old too! Check it out… all you need is one canvas per child, some acrylic paints, and paint brushes/sponges. I decided to go with pink, orange, and gray paint to match their room. You could get paint trays and squirt a little in each spot then let … …..
Just wanted to show you my newest craft! It’s a yarn wreath…. only thing missing is a super cute bow looped around the top to hang with. I gotta find something that matches the buttons nice and has that primitive feel to it. I wanted something to hang above the mantle that could be my “everyday” wreath and I think this is perfect. Whatcha think? And I wanted to give ya a lil reminder of all the great giveaways that are currently active: Little Green Books (2/10) GoGreen Wet/Dry Bag & 25 Cloth Wipes (2/15) Mama’s Milk Book (2/20) Crazy … …..
