Have you started Christmas shopping yet? I am slowly beginning to check names off of my list. When it comes to gift giving I like to put a lot of thought into what I choose for each of my children. There is one company that I can always depend on for high quality toys that provide hours of open ended play for my little ones. That encourages my children to use the most powerful thing they will ever play with – their imagination. Toys that don’t require batteries. That are made with wood from sustainable forests and decorated with water … …..
It seems children are growing up way too fast these days – especially young girls. I think it has to do with a lot of things like television shows, movies, music, clothing, and even toys that just aren’t appropriate for young children. I don’t know about you, but I want my little girls to stay little girls for as long as possible. And that is why I am very selective when it comes to the things I expose them to including their toys. One doll company that I can trust whole heartedly in is American Girl. At American Girl they … …..
I married into an awesome family- one that values each person and will be there for you no matter what, just because you are family. While I love them dearly, those silly people left me with little chance to birth a baby girl (the last girl born in the family was 60+ years ago!). Good thing I love my boys to the moon and back anyway! So when I had the chance to review a Lottie doll by Arklu, I was a bit out of my element. But when I looked into Lottie further, I knew that this was the … …..
When I was a little girl my favorite doll was a bald Cabbage Patch Kid that I fondly called Charlie Brown. He wore little brown overalls and I took him everywhere with me. At some point he got lost during my childhood, but I never forgot about Charlie and how much fun we had together. I truly believe every little girl (and boys too) should have their very own Cabbage Patch Kid and so I was very excited when two arrived on our doorstep for my girls. I admit at first I was overly excited because it was like taking … …..
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Polly Pocket. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. I absolutely loved playing with my Polly Pocket play sets when I was a little kiddo. And so when I saw the new version of this same great toy I just knew my own daughter’s would love them just the same. Now these definitely aren’t the Polly Pockets I remember playing with, but they are fun in a whole new way. With the Polly Pocket Wall Party you … …..
I don’t know about you, but when shopping for the perfect dolls for my daughters to play with I have stumbled across many that are absolutely ridiculous for countless reasons – including the brand name of some dolls and unrealistic body image just to name a few. Instead I want to provide them with dolls that are not only wholesome and fun, but are educational as well. In all my searching so far I have only found one company that fits my criteria. At American Girl, they celebrate girls and all that they can be by developing products and experiences … …..
Alleigh and Kaelyn are both huge fans of Disney movies – there always seems to be one playing at our house. And so I knew as soon as they heard about Secret of the Wings they would have to have it as well because what’s not to love about fairies especially when you’re four and two years old? Hehe. While watching Secret of the Wings viewers journey with Tinker Bell and her fairy friends into the forbidden world of the of the Mysterious Winter Woods, where curiosity and adventure leads Tink to an amazing discovery and reveals a magical secret … …..
Mermaids are one of those magical creatures that tend to grab the attention of every little girl. They even did to me when I was a little one. I remember thinking of how awesome it would be to be a mermaid, swim around the ocean, live in a sand castle, and have sea creatures for friends. And since being introduced to Waverly and the Magic Seashells from the world of Azarella my girls love mermaids too. I must admit I’m a tad jealous though because there were no awesome mermaid toys like this when I was a little munchkin, hehe. … …..
Almost a month ago I wrote a blog post about some awesome new Polly Pocket toys (Hangout House & Patio) that Alleigh and Kaelyn got to try out. Since then they have been playing with Polly and her friends every chance they get. They loved how they could make Polly and her accessories stick anywhere they wanted thanks to the suction cups on each piece. And so for the past month they have been having fun with Polly swimming in her pool, swinging, grilling out on the patio, and taking bubble baths. Recently a new play set arrived at our … …..
When I was a lil girl I absolutely loved Polly Pocket…. I had so many of them it probably drove my mom crazy, hehe. And I was very protective of them – just ask my younger sister what would happen if she tried to sneak and play with my Polly Pockets. Let’s just say it was not a good situation! I love seeing toys from my childhood being modified and improved for my kiddos to enjoy as well. Plus it allows me to relive a bit of my childhood. And so when two sets of Polly Pockets arrived at our … …..
