Almost half way through his second grade year, my oldest, Aiden, has definitely found his favorite subject- science. He’s also realized that he has a natural talent for sports and loves to play and watch them all. So this Christmas, we were really excited to find out about a unique STEM toy to put under the tree that involves everything he loves into one. We were able to try out one of the fantastic kits from Little Medical School– the My Little Sports Medicine Kit. Packaged in its unique box- a medical satchel- the My Little Sports Medicine Kit was … …..
While I try to keep our house pretty organized, I’ll admit that there are definitely days you can’t walk through the house without tripping over strewn about toys, legos, or books. With four boys, the toy clutter can definitely overwhelm me and my floor from time to time. We’ve implemented some good organizing tools to help cut down on the chaos, including bins on cubicle shelving, an art organizing cabinet, and a no toys in the bedroom rule. One company, Oribel, has also continued the idea of removing clutter from the floor with their new line of toys, Vertiplay. Designed … …..
School is back in full swing again, and a sense of routine is beginning. My maternity leave has also ended, and I’m getting in the groove of working again, just with another little person at home waiting for me! With all of the routines comes homework each night, running kids to school, and sports practices. It also seems to come with a healthy dose of back-to-school grouchiness in the evenings. We’ve tried a few strategies this year to combat new routine stress like spending evenings outdoors, going for walks, and playing some games. While we all love games, it’s sometimes … …..
Life has changed pretty drastically since my oldest started school. While I thought life was busy before, I didn’t realize just how busy it gets when you have bus stops to get to and sports practices all throughout the week. Its definitely been go, go, go! I’ve also learned that with all of that rushing and running around, my kids are needing more activities that we can pick up and take with us wherever our schedules lead us. One of my favorite game companies, Peaceable Kingdom, has come up with a great solution for crazy schedules just like ours- Games … …..
The product has been provided by VTech so I could experience it with my family; however, the thoughts and opinions are all my own. We love playing with VTech toys in our house, and as I’ve recently shared, our boys have all had VTech toys through their many stages of growth and development- newborn to the kindergarten years. While they loved the baby toys, I’m finding that Aiden seems to be the most interested in his VTech toys right now as he’s learning to write words and form sentences. And since the other two boys know that VTech means fun, … …..
Ahoy there, me hearties! All three of my boys love pirates. In fact, two years ago Aiden and Reese dressed up like pirates for Halloween… and just about everyday after that too! I’m not sure, but I can guess Reese may love pirates a little more because of how much we talked about them when he first got his eye patch when he was 1. To get him to leave it on his glasses, we told him to just pretend it was a pirate eye patch and talk like a pirate all day. So he did just that! Reese still … …..
Every once in a while I get a nostalgic feeling and take some time to go back over all of our pictures of the boys from the time they were newborns. The long nights seem to stretch on forever, but looking back, they grew so fast. The rate at which they each developed just astounds me! Even today I had to take a moment to think about just how quickly Ezra has learned to talk since getting his tubes in his ears in February. They are just constantly learning and changing, you know?! In effort to keep their minds and … …..
Product samples have been provided free of cost in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I have always had a love for science since I was a little girl, and I continue to enjoy it now as an adult. I’m blessed to have a job that combines my love of science with my love of new life and making an impact. Since I want my boys to be able to experience the same thing as they grow, I want to introduce science and a passion for learning to them now so they can embrace … …..
After home schooling Reese for preschool last year, I can honestly say I’m just as tired of school work as Reese is. However, I really wanted a way to keep the boys thinking, writing, and reading throughout the summer without doing the same thing we have been doing. The summer reading program at our library has really helped with vocabulary and exposure to different books (hello, prize incentives!), but I needed something different to keep them thinking… something easy, portable, and fun for the boys to do. Of course they love games, so something that mixed learning and playing would … …..
When you have three kids, you seem to accumulate an enormous amount of toys rather quickly, without even noticing it in the process. You learn that there are toys that when stepped on can feel like walking across hot coals, toys that would be fantastic additions for Mamaw’s house (or any house, really, just not mine!), toys that you put on the very top shelf because of it’s incredibly annoying catchy tunes, and toys where no matter how hard you try, you will NEVER have all of the pieces back in the box at one time. So along with accumulating … …..
