Celebrate National Learn to Swim Day on May 21st

My girls are counting down the days til school is out and summer is officially here.  They are so ready to trade in desks, math facts, and spelling words for pools, flip flops, and diving rings.  And I must say I am right there with them.  But as a mom I know that with water also comes danger which is why I firmly believe that teaching children to swim and promoting water safety is very important.  SwimWays feels the exact same way and so they founded National Learn to Swim Day in 2012. May 21st will mark SwimWays 5th annual … …..

Surviving the Yuckies When Sick Gets Real™ {Plus Giveaway}

School is quickly coming to a close for our boys, and we are all so excited for the arrival of warmer weather.  This year, we even have a new baby joining us, and we’re ready for a summer packed full of fun and learning!  But unfortunately, along with all of the outdoor activities and beautiful weather, a nasty cold bug or two seems to catch on in the transition.  Even though we try our best to keep those germs away, sick still seems to get very real in our house.  Plus, when you have a home full of boys like we … …..

Taking Control of my Health

It’s been a little over a month since I posted.  But the good news is I’m back and I have some fun posts just around the corner. Before we get to those I wanted to share what kept me away for so long. My time away was due in part to a few different things.  I needed a little break to spend time with my family especially during the holidays.  We also had a few colds make their way through our family which is always a fun time with two adults and four kiddos in a tiny cozy house.  And … …..

The Perfect Christmas Gift with GuruNanda Oils and Diffuser

A sample was provided for my review, but all thoughts and opinions are my own. I love Christmas and giving gifts, but I always find that struggle of wanting to get really good gifts that someone will enjoy without ruining my budget.  Because when it’s all said and done, I definitely want to be able to pay my bills and not gain any debt while blessing others.  For me, gift exchanges and meaningful gifts on a smaller budget require thinking outside the box, and sometimes, a pleasant surprise find in the store.  Well this Christmas, there’s a very pleasant and … …..

Total Body Care Starts at Massage Envy

This post was sponsored by Massage Envy as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. When is the last time you took a moment for yourself?  Chances are it might be so long ago that you don’t even remember when it was or what you did.  The last time I can recall taking a moment entirely for myself without any of my children present or my hubby was when I took a walk along the beach on vacation before anyone else woke up for the day.  That was over four months ago.  I’d say that I am well over … …..

Every Woman Deserves a Safe Childbirth

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the Cigna Foundation, in partnership with Samahope. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. After the birth of each of my daughter’s I made sure to write their birth story so that I could remember all the little details that may eventually fade from my memories.  Each story is so different and each time something didn’t go exactly according to my plan, but I was blessed to end each story with a beautiful bundle of joy being placed in my arms. Another similarity among … …..

Pfister Delivers Filtered Water From the Kitchen Faucet

I feel like my home and vehicle are water bottle wastelands.  I find them on night stands, in diaper bags, on kitchen counter tops, rolling under the seat of my car.  And more often than not they are still half full.  This drives me crazy for so many reasons.  Buying a huge case of water every time I go to the grocery store is such a waste of money.  Not to mention our house is rather small and so this case of water tends to just sit on the kitchen floor taking up valuable space.  Plus there are these facts … …..

A More Accurate & Reliable TB Test

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for the TB Blood Test. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. Today I want to talk about something that thirty percent of the world’s population has in common.  They are infected with tuberculosis (TB).  Every twenty-one seconds someone dies from tuberculosis and every three seconds a new infection occurs. WHAT IS TB? Tuberculosis (TB) is an airborne, highly contagious, infectious disease caused by bacteria. These bacteria are spread through the air by a person infected with active TB when they sneeze, cough or even … …..

8 Activities To Help You Fall Asleep

I participated in an Ambassador program on behalf of Influence Central for Pernix Therapeutics. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. About a month ago I wrote a post where I shared four simple shut-eye strategies for getting better sleep.  I also mentioned that I would be trying these strategies myself to see how they would improve my quality of sleep.  I put the most emphasis on turning off technology at least one hour before bed time.  By doing this I was avoiding the LED lights that my computer, tablet, and smart phone emit which in … …..

The Darling Dirtballs Owned Our Strong at Mudderella

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Mudderella. I received complimentary admission to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. A few months ago I wrote a post sharing that I would be participating in Mudderella along with my sister and two of my very close friends.  My words may have come across confident in that post but deep inside me I was really wondering if I could actually conquer the course.  I would be coming face to face with five miles of rough terrain, fourteen challenging … …..
