Have a “Ball” This Valentine’s Day – Free Printable

Aiden is pretty excited this year for his first ever Valentine’s Day party at school, and I’m lucky enough that they have invited moms and dads to come too! I was also really excited to get to do his first ever Valentines with him, but I wasn’t super impressed with the selection available in the stores. It seemed like everything boy themed is some sort of superhero or sports team that he hasn’t even heard of yet. So we decided to make our own. We took one of Aiden’s favorite phrases- “Let’s have a ball!”- and made a fun Valentine … …..

Free Valentine’s Day Card Printable – Just add bubbles!

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and Alleigh is super excited for her kindergarten class party.  I’ve been a bit stressed because I know there will be lots of red candy and sweets… which for me translates to lots of red40 which has been banned from our home.  And so I wanted to make some Valentines with Alleigh that were free of the sweets, but still had a special treat.  Of course we could have picked up some store bought cards, but what’s that fun in that?  Instead mama whipped up some cute Valentine’s and I even made a free printable … …..

Get Crafty with Crayola! {Prize Pack & Gift Card Giveaway}

The Crayola product, gift card, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by Crayola. While I wouldn’t always call myself crafty, I do become the crafting queen when it comes to my kids, especially when I can use kid-friendly supplies.  Who doesn’t want those adorable crafts at Christmas time that you know the kiddos have poured their heart and soul into (and little messy hands, of course)? This year we decided to do a fun craft for the boys’ Mamaw that will fit perfectly up on her fireplace mantle among her snowman collection.  Plus it was great using a … …..

Pumpkin Masters Kits – The Safe Way to Carve!

One of my favorite things about Halloween is pumpkins.  I love taking the kiddos out to the pumpkin patch and letting them each choose the perfect pumpkin.  After wandering around the pumpkin patch this year we ended up with three massive pumpkins that were just begging to be carved. I remember growing up watching my parents carve jack-o-lantern faces into our pumpkins with huge kitchen knives so when I started carving pumpkins for my little ones five years ago I reached for the knives too.  But I must admit that those big knives just aren’t the easiest to work with … …..

Get Crafty with Tori & #StarburstCandyCorn

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Starburst. I received product samples to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating. It’s October which just so happens to be my favorite time of year.  I love everything about autumn.  The vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows that transform the trees into beautiful works of art.  Visiting the pumpkin patch to find that perfect pumpkin for carving.  Choosing trick-or-treat costumes for the kiddos.  Indulging in all that tasty candy they gather – they love sharing with me – I swear! Hehe.  Speaking of … …..

Decorating Easter Eggs with Napkins Tutorial

I can’t believe that Easter is less than a month away.  Last year I shared a tutorial for dying Easter eggs using silk ties.  It received such a great response that I thought it would be fun to share another method of decorating eggs this year using another atypical item.  Napkins! Let’s start off with the super simple material list… Before you are ready to start decorating the eggs dye them a variety of solid colors using any method of your choosing.  I used food coloring, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 1/2 cup boiling water to make my dyes. 1.)  … …..

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Tips

I’m one of those people who just can not do a simple jack-o-lantern face on our pumpkins each year.  Instead I have to get all fancy schmancy, hehe.  It’s really so much easier than it looks and today I am gonna show you how.  MAMA HARPER’S PUMPKIN CARVING TIPS:1.)  When scooping out the pumpkin guts scrape the inside of the pumpkin until the area you want to carve is about an inch thick.  Don’t make it too thin or the pumpkin wall will become too weak and will break while carving. 2.)  Search for a FREE pumpkin carving template online … …..

Halloween Hand Print Bat Craft Tutorial

Halloween is almost here!  And so I thought it would be the perfect time to share a fun Halloween inspired craft you can make with your kiddos.  I love making crafts with my kids that use hand and foot prints because it’s almost as though I am capturing a piece of their childhood in paint.  Two years ago I shared how to make a hand print spider and foot print ghost – this year we’re going to do a hand print bat! You’ll just need a few simple supplies…. We used black construction paper and light purple paint, but you … …..
