When it comes to childproofing the obvious things seem to get addressed first. Electrical outlets get covered with plugs. Cabinets get locked. Gates are installed. But children are curious and there are many hidden dangers lurking in our homes that need to be addressed. In fact the Consumer Product Safety Commission has determined the corded window coverings are one of the top five hidden hazards in American homes. Each year infants, toddlers, and children pass away from accidentally strangling in window cords. There is a reason corded window treatments come with these warnings attached and we need to take them … …..
When babywearing in my hometown I am usually met with looks like I have two heads. The glances and questions when people realize I use cloth diapers? Priceless. Add in the fact that I breastfeed my little ones to the age of two anywhere and everywhere they get hungry without a cover. To put it simply I feel like I don’t quite fit in most of the time. And I am totally fine with that because I love the choices I have made for my babies and myself. But there is an event that takes place in numerous cities across … …..
This post is part of a sponsored campaign for The Sugar Goblin. I received compensation for my participation, but my review and opinions are my own. Halloween is on the way and with it comes an over abundance of candy. With how the holiday falls this year Alleigh, Kaelyn, and Willow will be trick-or-treating twice which means double the candy. Of course the girls are absolutely thrilled about this, but like many parents we choose to limit their candy intake. In addition to limiting the amount of candy our girls eat we also do not allow them to eat anything … …..
Thank you to The J.M. Smucker Company for sponsoring today’s post. Not too long ago I shared my shopping trip to Walmart where I stocked up on all sorts of Jif and Smucker’s deliciousness. And today I am excited to share all about our end of summer farewell where we devoured it all, hehe. In Ohio Labor Day marks the end of summer… and much to my children’s dismay the last day to enjoy public swimming pools before they close for the year. Luckily the weather was gorgeous today – hot and sunny with just a few clouds floating by … …..
This post was sponsored by Sam’s Club, however, the text and opinions are all my own. Recently I’ve shared some of my shopping trips to Sam’s Club® where I’ve stocked up on the essentials for packing lunches – gotta love back to school time. And then I realized that I’ve never shared why I love Sam’s Club in the first place. Why if you don’t have a membership you really need to get one. Especially if you are a mom. Even more so if you are a mom of a little one… think diapers, wipes, formula, and more. And so … …..
The countdown is on, because in just a few short weeks, Mama Harper and I are off to another MommyCon! If you’ve been around for any length of time, you’ll know that we are big fans of MommyCon, and have been to the Chicago event twice. This time, the event is much closer to home for Mama Harper- right in her home state in Columbus, Ohio! But not only are we excited to be in Ohio this time, we’re going to take advantage of MommyCon Columbus being almost a halfway point for us, and each bring our families along for … …..
No matter how many babies you have there is one thing I can promise… they will all be completely different. What worked to soothe one could completely throw another into hysterics. Perhaps one falls asleep and stays asleep with ease while another must be rocked and swaddled. Maybe you breastfed your first three children with absolutely no problems and your fourth child is having trouble gaining weight. That was me. I vividly remember taking Lilah to The Breastfeeding Center at one month old to weigh her. I remember staring at the scale when the numbers appeared not being able to … …..
In a few short weeks my girls will be heading back to school. Alleigh will be a second grader and Kaelyn will be a kindergartener. The girls are both excited for school to start, to meet their new teachers, and to see all of their friends, but before that day gets here we have lots of preparing to accomplish. The biggest task will be checking all the items off of their supply lists which seem to be a mile long. Luckily I can get both of their lists completely finished in one stop to Walmart. Plus they have the best … …..
Ever since my husband and I were expecting our first baby, safe sleep is something that we have heard a lot about. I was fortunate enough to have friends with younger babies who talked a lot about safe sleep, and an amazing birthing educator who also gave us some incredible tips for keeping my sweet little baby safe while sleeping. One thing that we heard over and over is that babies sleep better when swaddled, and that HALO SleepSacks were an absolute must for us to have. So, we made sure to include a few SleepSack Swaddles on our baby … …..
Now that our backyard is fenced in I absolutely love hosting little gatherings and play dates. Any excuse for a party is fine by me and so when Pampers asked if I would like to host a potty learning party I jumped at the chance. When Willow was born nearly three years ago two of my very close friends also brought beautiful little girls into the world within months of each other. Those three have been close ever since and have now entered the potty learning phase together. What better way to get them excited about this milestone than to … …..
