Christmas is now just a tad over a month away and I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to freak out a bit.  I haven’t purchased a single Christmas present yet – not one!!  I used to love heading out into the hustle and bustle each year, but since having kids the thought of either dragging them along with me or hiring a babysitter is rather daunting.  And so now most of my shopping is done online from the comfort of my couch while I watch Christmas movies in my sweats and my kids play – so much easier.  … …..

I can’t believe Christmas is less than two months away.  The toy ads have started arriving in the mail, but basically every single one has the same exact selection of toys and in all honesty I’m not finding anything too interesting, educational, or entertaining in any of them.  Alleigh and Kaelyn have been looking at the ads too and haven’t seemed very intrigued either.  And that’s when I realized that we needed to look in a different direction since the national chain stores didn’t have what we were looking for perhaps some local neighborhood toy stores would! It’s funny how things change once you have kiddos.  Before I had Alleigh I loved to go shopping.  I could hit up the mall for hours with my friends and slowly browse through every single store.  And of course we always finished up our shopping trips with lunch or dinner in the food court.  And then Alleigh arrived.  And we would still go sometimes…. juggling one baby while shopping wasn’t too difficult, but then we added in Kaelyn and let’s just say going shopping is one of the last things on my mind.  Pushing a single stroller through a crowded … …..

With all the moaning and groaning I hear on a daily basis… such as having to pay the electric/gas/water/mortgage bills… I really think people forget they should feel blessed that they have these resources available to them.  There are so many people in third world countries who don’t even have a roof over their head or food to eat.  But did you know there is a way you can help fight poverty?  And that is through fair trade which is trading that is done legally and in which fair prices are paid to producers in developing countries.
