Newly Renovated Hotel Breakers {Cedar Point–Sandusky, OH}

One of the best things about living in Ohio is being close to Cedar Point, The Roller Coaster Capital of the World!  I absolutely love roller coasters and was a tiny bit sad last year that I wasn’t able to ride any during the entire season including HalloWeekends in October.  Of course it was for a  very good reason – I was pregnant with my adorable Lilah Rose and I’d choose her over roller coasters any day.  But, I admit, it was still a little bummed that I would never get to ride Mantis again.  However, once I found out … …..

Salt Fork State Park Lodge & Conference Center–One of Ohio’s Many Hidden Gems

When it comes to planning summer vacations many times we immediately think of places far from home.  Places that take hours of driving and way too many gallons of gas to reach or maybe even plane tickets.  But what you might not realize is that there are some pretty spectacular vacation spots very close to home.  I admit I’m at fault with this because I tend to have the mindset that there is nothing fun to do in my home state of Ohio, but the truth is Ohio is full of so many hidden gems.  I plan to share a … …..

Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark Resort–Paradise in the Middle of a Snow Storm {Sandusky, Ohio} {Plus Giveaway}

As I sit here typing away even more snow is falling from the sky and I’m dreading going to pick Alleigh up from school because that means I have to take the other three little ones out into the frigid cold.  Yet just a few weeks ago I was relaxing on a lounge chair at the side of a tide pool surrounded by palm trees in a perfectly comfortable 82° paradise.  And I want to go back so badly.  The good news is it’s very possible to visit again while the winter keeps dragging on because it’s not a very … …..

The Farm at Walnut Creek {Sugarcreek, OH – Amish Country}

Far too often I find myself thinking that there is nothing fun to do in Ohio, but in reality that is the furthest thing from the truth as you will see in this and some upcoming blog posts as well.  A few weeks ago the girls and I joined a very good friend of mine and her children on a trip to Amish country to explore The Farm at Walnut Creek which opened in 2007.  No matter your age a visit to The Farm will be a truly unique and educational experience that the adults will enjoy just as much … …..

Comfort Inn Splash Harbor – Bellville, Ohio: Ohio’s Premier Water Park for Young Families {Review & Giveaway}

The worst thing about winter is being cooped up inside.  During the summer I constantly have the kids outside playing in the neighborhood, visiting local playgrounds, splashing in swimming pools.  It had gotten to the point that we were all in need of an escape from the confines of our home to splash about and have some fun.  I’m a huge fan of indoor water parks, but in most cases they are just too big and overwhelming for our family with three kiddos five and under.  However, there is one hotel within an hour or so drive from our home … …..

Head to Cleveland for Some Monster Sized Fun at a Lake Erie Monsters Hockey Game!

Boys liking sports more than girls is one of those stereotypes that my girls happily break.  They love to kick back on the couch and watch every sport imaginable with their daddy.  But what they enjoy even more is attending live sporting events.  We have taken them to basketball, football, and baseball games which they absolutely loved and so when given the opportunity to attend a Lake Erie Monsters hockey game I knew we couldn’t pass it up!  And so about two weeks ago we piled in the car and headed up to Cleveland to attend the game at Quicken … …..

Escape the Frigid Temperatures at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Where It’s Always 82 Degrees & Sunny! Plus a Giveaway!{Sandusky, Ohio}

I’m just putting this out there.  I hate winter.  Ohio is definitely the wrong state for me.  And this winter has been absolutely brutal so far.  It’s not so much the amount of snow that has fallen, but the frigid temperatures.  One day it was -13° and that wasn’t even including the wind chill.  I am so desperately yearning for sunshine and warmth outside, but right now that is months away.  I was so excited when our family was invited to spend the weekend at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay where it’s always 82° and sunny giving us a much needed … …..

Monster Jam Rolls Into Quicken Loans Arena for Valentine’s Day Weekend! Family 4 Pack of Tickets Giveaway {Cleveland, Ohio 2/14-16th)

Listen up!  I am SO excited because Valentine’s Day is only 2 weeks away.  It’s not the chocolates, flowers, or romantic cards that have me all excited – though I wouldn’t be against the idea of any of those things from my hubby {just in case he’s reading}.  What I am really excited about is Monster Jam!  I absolutely love that Monster Jam rolls into Cleveland, Ohio every mid February.  Yup, for me Valentine’s Day is not about candlelit dinners and a dozen roses.  It’s about  twelve-foot-tall, ten-thousand-pound machines tearing up a dirt track.  I guess you wouldn’t call me … …..

Disney On Ice Presents Let’s Celebrate! A Year’s Worth of Fun Packed Into One Show! {Cleveland, Ohio 1/10 – 1/19 2014}

On Friday evening my sister joined me and the girls on a trip to Cleveland to attend Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate.  It’s becoming a bit of a tradition to attend each year with the girls and they were super excited.  Kaelyn kept asking if her favorite characters from her favorite movies would be there – The Princess and the Frog and any of the Toy Story movies.  She absolutely adores Tiana, Woody, Buzz, and Jessie.  In fact for Christmas this year she received a Tiana doll from her Aunt Courtney as well as Woody and Jessie pull string … …..

Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! at the Quicken Loans Arena–Cleveland, Ohio {January 10th-19th 2014}

Last year the girls and I kicked off 2013 by attending Disney On Ice Rockin’ Ever After.  They had an absolute blast and still talk about the show even a year later.  A few weeks ago Kaelyn asked if we could see Disney On Ice in Cleveland, Ohio again and I was so excited to tell her YES!  And I was even more excited to tell her yes because some of her absolute favorite characters will be in this show – Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! It’s one colossal party on ice, with all your favorite Disney friends! Join … …..
