Maumee Bay State Park Lodge Celebrates 25th Anniversary with 25 Vacation Giveaways

My girls are counting down the days til the school year is over and we’re all super excited for summer to get here.  We’ve been discussing what sort of adventures we can get into and today I am going to share one place that is on the top of our must-visit list this year.  Maumee Bay State Park Lodge just ten miles east of Toledo, Ohio. This year Maumee Bay is celebrating their 25th anniversary and looking forward to their future with a series of signature celebrations through out 2016.  We’ll be making our first visit to the lodge on … …..

Go On A Safari Without Leaving Ohio at The Wilds

I have always thought it would be amazing to go on an African Safari.  But I know realistically it will most likely never happen.  The cost is just simply to high especially with a family of six.  Airfare, hotels, passports, and more.  The cost would simply be astronomical.  Then I discovered that I could go on a safari without ever leaving Ohio.  And when I experienced The Wilds I truly did find it hard to believe that I wasn’t on the other side of the world. But I was in fact in Cumberland, Ohio visiting North America’s largest conservation facility … …..

Newly Renovated Hotel Breakers {Cedar Point–Sandusky, OH}

One of the best things about living in Ohio is being close to Cedar Point, The Roller Coaster Capital of the World!  I absolutely love roller coasters and was a tiny bit sad last year that I wasn’t able to ride any during the entire season including HalloWeekends in October.  Of course it was for a  very good reason – I was pregnant with my adorable Lilah Rose and I’d choose her over roller coasters any day.  But, I admit, it was still a little bummed that I would never get to ride Mantis again.  However, once I found out … …..

Salt Fork State Park Lodge & Conference Center–One of Ohio’s Many Hidden Gems

When it comes to planning summer vacations many times we immediately think of places far from home.  Places that take hours of driving and way too many gallons of gas to reach or maybe even plane tickets.  But what you might not realize is that there are some pretty spectacular vacation spots very close to home.  I admit I’m at fault with this because I tend to have the mindset that there is nothing fun to do in my home state of Ohio, but the truth is Ohio is full of so many hidden gems.  I plan to share a … …..

Comfort Inn Splash Harbor – Bellville, Ohio: Ohio’s Premier Water Park for Young Families {Review & Giveaway}

The worst thing about winter is being cooped up inside.  During the summer I constantly have the kids outside playing in the neighborhood, visiting local playgrounds, splashing in swimming pools.  It had gotten to the point that we were all in need of an escape from the confines of our home to splash about and have some fun.  I’m a huge fan of indoor water parks, but in most cases they are just too big and overwhelming for our family with three kiddos five and under.  However, there is one hotel within an hour or so drive from our home … …..

A Splashing Good Time at Comfort Inn Splash Harbor! {Bellville, Ohio} Review & Giveaway

My girls absolutely love to go swimming, but at two and four years old massive indoor water parks just aren’t quite their speed.  And so I went in search of a hotel with a pool area that was more like a mini waterpark more suited towards families with younger kiddos.  I found just what I was looking for at the Comfort Inn Splash Harbor in Bellville, Ohio.  About two weeks ago Dustin, the girls, my sister, and I enjoyed an evening there. After checking in at the front desk we headed to our adjoining rooms.  The rooms were very clean … …..

Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park Review & Day Pass Giveaway {Sandusky, OH}

This past weekend our family had the pleasure of visiting Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio.  It was a dreary, cold, and rainy day outside when we arrived, but inside the forecast was a constant 82 degrees – perfect pool weather.  The girls were super excited when we pulled into the parking lot and they saw the water slides coming out of the building.  Then when we walked into the tropical themed resort we came face to face with a huge pirate ship complete with talking parrots which the girls loved. After checking into our room … …..

HalloWeekends at Cedar Point {Sandusky, Ohio}

About two months ago I shared our visit to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio with all my awesome readers.  Our family had a great time, but I will admit this mama was a tad miserable being hugely pregnant in the hot summer heat while waddling around the rollercoaster capital of the world watching everyone else enjoy the thrills.  And so when we were invited back to experience HalloWeekends I was beyond excited because I would finally get to ride the coasters and enjoy all of the Halloween fun.  But then I realized we would have Willow with us since she … …..

Our stay at Hotel Breakers {Cedar Point–Sandusky, Ohio}

Yesterday I told ya all about our trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.  Tonight I’m going to tell you about the hotel that we stayed at.  There are actually quite a few different overnight accommodations in and around the park to choose from including Sandcastle Suites, Breakers Express, Camper Village, Lighthouse Point, Castaway Bay, and Hotel Breakers which is where we spent the night last Sunday. The Hotel Breakers is rather unique because it first opened more than 100 years ago and still contains that historic charm in it’s architectural detail, Tiffany glass, and beautiful rotunda.  Plus I think … …..
