Are you ready to hear about some more fun things to do in Ohio? This post is going to take us to Toledo which is in northwest Ohio, on the western end of Lake Erie, and borders the state of Michigan. If you’re more of a visual person this map should help. Three things you must do if you ever find yourself in Toledo, Ohio… 1.) Visit the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Here you will learn the history of the Great Lakes which make up 84 percent of the fresh surface water in North America. There are more … …..
I always love visiting Cedar Point, but I love visiting even more during HalloWeekends. It could be because the cooler temperatures that autumn brings makes trekking around an amusement park much easier than those boiling hot summer days. It could also be that autumn is my favorite season – the colors and fall decorations make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Cedar Point takes the concept of fall decorations to a whole new level transforming into a wonderland of 800 pumpkins, 400 gourds, and 67,200 cornstalks. The GateKeeper itself makes a bold statement to those entering through the Cedar … …..
One of my favorite things to do is explore new places. I have no idea why it took me so long to realize that we don’t need to travel far to have a great time. Lake Erie Shores and Islands is chock full of fun family activities. Last week I wrote a post sharing my family’s experience riding The Jet Express over to Kelleys Island and today I am excited to share all about our day on the island. Kelleys Island is the largest American island in Lake Erie measuring more than four square miles. It is 12 miles … …..
While very pregnant with Willow my parents invited Alleigh, Kaelyn, and myself to join them on a little over night trip to Put-in-Bay since Dustin was working. We had an absolute blast and I knew that I would eventually want to head back up to Lake Erie Shores and Islands as a family of 5 to explore another one of Ohio’s beautiful islands. A few weeks ago I was presented with the opportunity to visit Kelleys Island and so Dustin, the girls, and I along with my sister headed North towards Sandusky, Ohio. Before I share all about our experience … …..
About a month ago I shared my experience flying GateKeeper at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio the day before the park opened to the public for the 2013 season. It was such an amazing roller coaster and I was so ready to get back to Cedar Point so I could ride it again. I was thrilled to have that opportunity during the Cedar Point Mommy Blogger event. I invited a close friend of mine, her fiancé, and their baby girl who is about a month younger than Willow to join us for the event. Now you might be thinking how … …..
I am a thrill seeker. Now you won’t find me sky diving or bungee jumping, but roller coasters – heck yes! I absolutely love roller coasters and am so lucky to have the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point, just a little over an hour away in Sandusky, Ohio. Cedar Point is the home of sixteen roller coasters one of which is brand new this year. The last time Dustin and I visited the park during HalloWeekends we spent some time oooh-ing and ahhh-ing over the details of this new coaster on the signs displayed on the fence … …..
This past weekend our family had the pleasure of visiting Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio. It was a dreary, cold, and rainy day outside when we arrived, but inside the forecast was a constant 82 degrees – perfect pool weather. The girls were super excited when we pulled into the parking lot and they saw the water slides coming out of the building. Then when we walked into the tropical themed resort we came face to face with a huge pirate ship complete with talking parrots which the girls loved. After checking into our room … …..
About two months ago I shared our visit to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio with all my awesome readers. Our family had a great time, but I will admit this mama was a tad miserable being hugely pregnant in the hot summer heat while waddling around the rollercoaster capital of the world watching everyone else enjoy the thrills. And so when we were invited back to experience HalloWeekends I was beyond excited because I would finally get to ride the coasters and enjoy all of the Halloween fun. But then I realized we would have Willow with us since she … …..
This past week I have written a few blog posts telling you about our families awesome time at Cedar Point and staying at the Hotel Breakers over night. You should totally make sure you read those posts to see what a great time we had and below you can find a little snippet about Cedar Point too. Cedar Point is known for a couple of things. It’s known as the roller coaster capital of the world. But some just refer to Cedar Point as the world’s best amusement park. Cedar Point is an amusement park that brings people together through … …..
Yesterday I told ya all about our trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. Tonight I’m going to tell you about the hotel that we stayed at. There are actually quite a few different overnight accommodations in and around the park to choose from including Sandcastle Suites, Breakers Express, Camper Village, Lighthouse Point, Castaway Bay, and Hotel Breakers which is where we spent the night last Sunday. The Hotel Breakers is rather unique because it first opened more than 100 years ago and still contains that historic charm in it’s architectural detail, Tiffany glass, and beautiful rotunda. Plus I think … …..
