PROUD TO BE A:
Recently, both my family and Mama Harper’s family got together for an amazing weekend filled with tons of fun. We met together in Columbus, Ohio for MommyCon on Saturday, and then continued our fun on Sunday by visiting the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. We had never been there, so my boys were pretty excited to visit a brand new zoo and see all of the animals. After a long, fun day, I can tell you that their excitement was completely fulfilled, and we can’t wait to go back! On of the first things we did upon entering the Columbus Zoo … …..
Are you ready to hear about some more fun things to do in Ohio? This post is going to take us to Toledo which is in northwest Ohio, on the western end of Lake Erie, and borders the state of Michigan. If you’re more of a visual person this map should help. Three things you must do if you ever find yourself in Toledo, Ohio… 1.) Visit the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Here you will learn the history of the Great Lakes which make up 84 percent of the fresh surface water in North America. There are more … …..
I have always thought it would be amazing to go on an African Safari. But I know realistically it will most likely never happen. The cost is just simply to high especially with a family of six. Airfare, hotels, passports, and more. The cost would simply be astronomical. Then I discovered that I could go on a safari without ever leaving Ohio. And when I experienced The Wilds I truly did find it hard to believe that I wasn’t on the other side of the world. But I was in fact in Cumberland, Ohio visiting North America’s largest conservation facility … …..
Far too often I find myself thinking that there is nothing fun to do in Ohio, but in reality that is the furthest thing from the truth as you will see in this and some upcoming blog posts as well. A few weeks ago the girls and I joined a very good friend of mine and her children on a trip to Amish country to explore The Farm at Walnut Creek which opened in 2007. No matter your age a visit to The Farm will be a truly unique and educational experience that the adults will enjoy just as much … …..
I love doing things that the entire family can enjoy together and visiting the zoo is definitely one of those things. Both Alleigh and Kaelyn love animals – in fact for Halloween this year they are being their favorite animal (pictures soon) – so if I mention visiting the zoo they are all about it. And even though Dustin isn’t the kind of guy to show his emotions on his sleeve I can tell he enjoys visiting the zoo by how he lingers at certain animals and points things out to the girls. Now Willow… she’s happy wherever we go … …..
Last week the girls and I went on a little over night trip to Put-In-Bay with my parents and I thought they would have a blast checking out the African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton, Ohio on our way home. There is so much to do at the African Safari Wildlife Park including a drive-thru safari, walk-thru safari, pig races, educational shows and so much more. We arrived soon after the park had opened and so we decided to do the drive-thru safari first with the thought that the animals would be very active in the morning since it … …..
Almost a year ago Alleigh won a goldfish at the Stark County Fair and now both girls are ridiculously attached to “Swimmie” – very original, hehe. The fascination they have of their beloved Swimmie has also grown an interest in almost all creatures that make their home in the water, so when we had the opportunity to visit the Greater Cleveland Aquarium (Cleveland, Ohio) I knew they would love it…. and I was definitely right! When we first arrived at the aquarium our family was treated to a wonderful breakfast with the other blogging guests, had a visit from the … …..
Well I’m a still a bit in shock that my girls are now four and two years old. Time truly goes too fast and I have been trying to make every moment count. And so when I found out that Dustin would have a Friday off from work (he typically only has Sunday off) – the entire Friday – I knew we had to do something fun with the girls and so we headed to the Cleveland Zoo! As we were pulling out my sister pulled in the driveway and so she joined us. Dilly has a slight obsession with … …..
